Next Generation of Leaders, SC Manufacturing Growth, Personal Development

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Manufacturing Leadership Program (SCMLP) graduated a new cohort of the next generation of business and manufacturing leaders during a ceremony at the governor’s mansion on May 14, 2025.

Governor Henry McMaster, the SC Manufacturers Alliance, SC Future Makers and its partners from the Darla Moore School of Business wished the group well as it prepares to lead South Carolina’s worldclass workforce into the future.

“Partnerships are powerful across the manufacturing industry,” said Sara Hazzard President and CEO of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance. “We are as proud to partner with the Moore School to train a new generation of transformational manufacturing leaders as we are honored to celebrate their extraordinary work in this program. I can’t wait to see what is next for this group of graduates.”

Manufacturing continues to thrive in South Carolina. As the industry explodes, SCMLP addresses the growing need for skilled leadership in manufacturing.

SC Future Makers, the educational arm of the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance, partners with the Executive Education Center at the Darla Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina to train manufacturing leaders in the state. Working together, they provide intensive instructional experience from internationally recognized faculty, business leaders, and subject matter experts. Areas of study include: Global Growth, Organizational Strategy, Advancements in Technology, Supply Chain Management, Corporate Culture, Leadership and Personal Development.

“Our connection to the SCMLP is a great example of the Darla Moore School of Business’ support for South Carolina’s manufacturing community,” said Dr. Rohit Verma, Dean of the Moore School of Business. “Executive Development across all business types is a core competency for us.  We are honored to play a role in the SCMLP curriculum.”

The generous financial support of the Boeing Company, Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, and Sage Automotive Interiors help make the program possible.
