That success creates opportunities across our state. Automotive manufacturing generates $64 billion in annual economic impact and supports more than 119,000 jobs. Employment in the industry has grown 106% since 2010, more than three times the growth of manufacturing as a whole.
These are careers that make a difference for South Carolina families. Average annual pay in automotive manufacturing is $87,640, about 44% above the statewide average. And for every 10 jobs created in the industry, another 36 are created elsewhere in South Carolina.
